Design for Manufacture (DFM): A well-used phrase, but Cadenergy have always Designed for Manufacture. For example, via holes sizes and minimum track and gap are all kept to a sensible maximum. We welcome the opportunity to interact with your chosen Manufacturer and Assembler. This allows us to tailor your design for maximum yield and reliability.

Design for Assembly (DFA): Another not quite so well-used phrase. Often there is very little consideration given to this. Many people don't realise that you can get double sided assembly on a single sided board. These are the sort of things we can suggest if you like.

Cost Reduction:

Cost Reduction is a by-product of Design for manufacture DFM) and design for Assembly (DFA). Many companies assume that their PCB is designed with the best intentions. We always design for ease of manufacture. A simple to manufacture PCB tends to be more robust and cost less. If you have a design that is causing problems in manufacture or assembly you may consider a redesign, but even if you don't have any problems, is it OK to assume that the design cannot be improved? Other Services

Convert Hand Drawn Schematic to CAD: We use Pads Power Logic. It can be worthwhile letting us convert your hand drawn schematics. The cost of this can be offset, as a Netlist is an automatic by-product of the Pads Power Logic schematic and a supplied Netlist attracts a 30% discount to your PCB design.

Reverse Engineering: Do you have Gerbers? Then we can create a design from them.

For Customers with Innoveda (PADS) we can also assist on individual parts of the whole process, for example: - Component footprint creation, Component Placement, Routing.

PowerDrill:
Power Drill converts standard Pads PowerPCB ASCII outputs into DXF for Fabrication drawings. This includes: Dimensions (as dimensions), Board O/L as poly line, Drill symbols & Drill box as lines and real text.
By pressing "Download PowerDrill" a zip file (223K) will be downloaded that contains all the files you require to run the demo AND the real version. There is an Order form included which if faxed back, will entitle you to a serial No which activates the Software.

Netcheck:

• Compares two Netlists.
• Can be from 2 schematics, 2 PCB's or 1 schematic and 1 PCB.
• Both have to be in Pads format.
• We can convert these for you.

It is connection based, not signal name based. Reports differences and creates rename file. (An extremely powerful tool. It is used every day in the Bureau.)
